Or just because you have been home so much lately? Just like it is important to periodically deep clean and purge unnecessary clutter around the house, it\u2019s helpful to reevaluate your meal planning, shopping and food prepping routine too. Here are a few simple steps for spring cleaning your cooking routine as we head into this new season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1: Take inventory of your pantry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It might sound scary, but now\u2019s the time to venture into the depths of the pantry to see exactly what you have, then strategize how to use it (or if needed, toss it!). I did this a few weeks back and it was almost therapeutic. Save money as you work through shelf-stable items before purchasing duplicates and remember to re-stock those healthy staples that make fast weeknight meals, like this <a aria-label=\"sheet pan dinner (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/WellnessWise\/photos\/a.10153085054814683\/10158331050659683\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">sheet pan dinner<\/a> a breeze. Some of my favorites are canned tomatoes, canned bean like black and garbanzo, broth in a box and nutrient-rich whole grains like quinoa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2: Embrace seasonal produce<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One simple way to get out of a cooking rut is to switch up your go-to fruits and vegetables based on the season. Bonus: this also means fresher and less expensive finds! Try a simple grilled vegetable medley for a simple spring side dish that will get rave reviews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3: Find a meal planning method that works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that meal planning is key to staying on track with healthy living goals. If your current setup isn\u2019t working, it might be time to switch things up. Make it a goal to find an approach that feels doable &#8212; and more importantly, sustainable &#8212; in the long term. If this is something you struggle with, you might consider outsourcing.
